Samanta Islam: The alumni association of North South University in Australia, Aussie NSUers Association has held the Annual General Meeting 2020-2022 in Sydney, Australia. The AGM was held in George Mepham Hall in Toongabie NSW on Saturday 12 December 2020 following COVID-19 restriction protocols. The meeting was attended by the executive board and registered members of the association. Executive board shared the association’s activities of last two years and new executive board was elected by member’s votes.
The existing president Ms. Nahid Kamal chaired the meeting and invited the registered members of the association to the meeting. The treasurer presented the financial reports of the association and other executive members shared their departments’ activities of the past term. An election with voting session was run by the election commissioner to elect a new executive committee to lead the association in 2020-2022.
The newly elected executive board members are: Nahid Kamal (President), M Wasimul Islam (Vice President), Shams Moudud (Secretary General), Newaz Hasan (Treasurer), Mehedi Reza (Assistant Treasurer), Asad Zaman Ahmed (Director, Strategy and Planning), Shahidur Rahman (Secretary, External Affairs), Md Abul Kalam Farhad (Secretary, Community Development), Nahar A Disha (Secretary, Media & communication), Samanta Islam (Joint Secretary, Media & communication), Fahema Talukder Pretty (Secretary, Logistics and Operations), M Tazim Tareque (Secretary, Information Technology), Dedarul Chandan (Secretary, Sports), Md Rabiul Islam (Secretary, Cultural) and Debzani Roy Chowdhury (Secretary, Family Engagement).
The association takes immense pride to be a very active community organisation to work for the betterment of the university, Bangladeshi and Australian communities since its inception in 2011 and they will continue to work with the same vision in future.
