To commemorate the glory, heritage, struggle, and success of the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Party (Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebok Dal) on its 45th founding anniversary, the Australia chapter of the organization recently organized a discussion meeting in Sydney.
The meeting was presided over by Moshiur Rahman Tuhin, Convener of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Party, Australia, and conducted by Jahidur Rahman, Member Secretary. The program began with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Wares Mahmud, Joint Convener of the Australia chapter.
The event was graced by S.M. Jilani, President of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Party , as the Chief Guest, while Rajib Ahsan, General Secretary of the Central Committee, attended as the Chief Speaker.
Distinguished guests included Yasin Ali, Senior Vice President of the Central Committee; Mohammad Rashedul Haque, International Affairs Secretary of BNP Central Committee; Nazmul Hasan, Organizing Secretary of Swechchasebok Dal Central Committee; and Mohammad Omi Ferdous, International Affairs Secretary (Joint Secretary rank), Central Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Partyl.
Among other special guests were A.F.M. Tawhidul Islam, President of BNP Australia; Mohammad Haydar Ali, General Secretary; Ashraful Alam, Vice President; Mohammad Shafiul Alam Shafik, Organizing Secretary; Monjurul Alam, Treasurer; and Yasir Arafat Sabuj, Joint General Secretary.
Also present were leaders from various BNP-affiliated bodies, including Md. Jahangir Alam (Proposed Convener, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Australia), Faruk Ahmed Khan (Member Secretary), and Joint Conveners of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Party, Australia Khaja Dawood Hossain, Ahsan Habib, Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman Labu, Mohammad Murad Hossain, Wares Mahmud, Mohammad Ali, Md. Motaher Hossain, and senior members Mobarak Mia, Shahinur Rahman, and Anwar Hossain.
Representatives from the NSW chapter included Mithu Bepari (Convener), Nur Alam (Member Secretary), Abdul Hannan (former Member Secretary), Md. Ruman Hossain, Fardin Hossain, Talha Ibne Tanim Ali, and Rifat among others.
In his keynote address, S.M. Jilani stated that “certain quarters are trying to tarnish the image of the party through false allegations and conspiracies to delay the next national election.” He urged all leaders and activists, both at home and abroad, to remain alert, united, and determined to resist any plot against the party’s democratic movement.
Guest speaker Mohammad Rashedul Haque highlighted the steadfast dedication of Swechchasebok Dal members over the past 45 years, emphasizing unity and collective strength to overcome future challenges.
Nazmul Hasan praised the significant role played by the Australia chapter, particularly in mobilizing support against the autocratic regime in Bangladesh, and encouraged members to continue strengthening the leadership of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Mohammad Omi Ferdous remarked that “for 17 long years, the Swechchasebok Dal has remained devoted to serving the people, showing resilience and unity even under adversity.” He applauded the members’ patience, courage, and consistency in upholding the party’s mission.
Speeches were also delivered by A.F.M. Tawhidul Islam, Mohammad Haidar Ali, Yasir Arafat Sabuj, Mohammad Shafiul Alam Shafik, Hasna Hena (Assistant Organizing Secretary), Md. Jahangir Alam, and several joint conveners and members of the Australia chapter including Khaja Dawood Hossain, Ahsan Habib, Mostafizur Rahman Labu, Mohammad Murad Hossain, Waris Mahmud, Motaher Hossain, and Mohammad Ali.
From the NSW committee, Fardin Hossain also spoke.
Leaders and activists from BNP Australia, Jubo Dal, Swechchasebok Dal, and Mahila Dal attended the event, making it a vibrant and unifying gathering.
