The Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteers Party (Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebak Dal), Australia Chapter, hosted a special farewell reception in honor of Mohammad Omi Ferdous, International Affairs Secretary (Joint Secretary Rank) of the party’s Central Committee, marking his return to Bangladesh after 17 years abroad.
Expressing his deep emotion about returning home, Mohammad Omi Ferdous said, “For the past 17 years, despite my desire, I could not return to Bangladesh due to various obstacles. Even after obtaining Australian citizenship, administrative and family reasons kept me waiting. Finally, being able to return to my beloved homeland is an unforgettable moment for me.”
The event was attended by Moshiur Rahman Tuhin, Convener of the BNP Volunteers Australia Chapter; Zahidur Rahman, Member Secretary; Joint Conveners Khaja Dawood Hossain, Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman Labu (Office Secretary), Mohammad Murad Hossain, and Mohammad Ali; as well as other organizational leaders and activists.
Also present were Mithu Bepari, Convener of the NSW Chapter of the Volunteers Party; Fardin Hossain, member; and many active members who extended their heartfelt greetings to the guest.
From the BNP Australia leadership, President A.F.M. Touhidul Islam, General Secretary Mohammad Ali Haider, and Organizing Secretary Shafiul Alam Shafiq attended the event, expressing their appreciation for Omi’s long-standing contribution to the party’s international activities.
Notably, Mohammad Ferdous Omi has played a significant role in promoting BNP’s international presence during his years in exile, and his return to Bangladesh has sparked renewed enthusiasm among party members both at home and abroad.
