

A discussion meeting was held on Sunday, December 8, at the Lakemba Library Hall in Sydney City, organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party (Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal), Australia branch. The meeting, titled “Great Victory Day and Building the Future Bangladesh Under Tarique Rahman’s Leadership,” was presided over by the branch’s Convener, Md. Moshiur Rahman Tuhin, and moderated by Member Secretary Jahidur Rahman.
The meeting began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Wares Mahmud. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, SM Zilani, President of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party (Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal). The keynote speaker was Yasin Ali, Senior Vice President of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party. Special guests included Z Mortuza Bin Sohag, Vice President of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party, and Mohammad Omi Ferdous, Joint Secretary for International Affairs of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party. The invited guest was Mohammad Rashedul Haque, International Affairs Secretary of the BNP Central Executive Committee.
Other speakers included A.F.M. Tawhidul Islam, President of BNP Australia branch; Sultan Mahmud and Faizur Rahman, Vice Presidents; KM Manzurul Alamgir, Finance Secretary; Shafiqul Rahman, Joint Secretary; Md. Jahangir Alam, Organizational Coordinator of Bangladesh Nationalist Youth Party, Australia branch; Joint Conveners of Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party, Australia branch; Ahsan Habib, Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman Labu, Md. Murad Hossain, Wares Mahmud, Motaher Hossain, and Mithu Bepari, Convener of the New South Wales Committee, among many others.
The chief guest, SM Zilani, in his speech, paid tribute to the late founder of the BNP, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, and all martyrs of the liberation war. He mentioned that in July-August, through a united student and public uprising, the fascist and murderous Hasina fled to India, but her associates remain in Bangladesh. From India, she continues to conspire against the country. He thanked the expatriate BNP leaders and activists and called on everyone to unite under the leadership of the Acting Chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman, to resist any conspiracies against the country.
In his speech, Yasin Ali said that although the fall of the fascist Hasina government occurred through the student and public movement in July-August, the country has not yet achieved complete victory. True victory will only be achieved when Tarique Rahman’s vision and objectives reach the people, and a government elected by the people is established.
Other attendees included Jubo Dal leader Md. Mofijal Islam Sagar; members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Volunteer Party, Australia branch, such as Shahinur Rahman and Russell Ahmed; joint conveners of the New South Wales Committee, Nur Alam; and members like Azizun Nahar, Sharmin Sultana, Talha Ibne Tanim Ali, Tarif Bin Jamal Rifat, and Md. Fardin Hossain, among others.
