Tensions between China and the United States are rising. In such a situation, the United States sent another warship to the disputed South China Sea. In the last two weeks, the country has sent a second warship to the South China Sea.
The US Navy said in a statement on Friday that USS Nimitz and USS Ronald Reagan had returned to the South China Sea between July 4 and 6 after completing naval operations and military exercises.
The statement further said that Nimitz and Reagan carriers are operating in the South China Sea.
The ships have been deployed in the Indo-Pacific region to strengthen the United States’ commitment to allies and partners.
In a statement, Rear Admiral Jim Kirk, commander of Nimitz, said US aircraft carriers were operating in the South China Sea in accordance with international law. Nothing is being done here for political reasons.
