National Revolution and Solidarity Day Observed in Australia

Sydney, 9 November 2025:
The National Revolution and Solidarity Day was observed with due dignity at the Lakemba Library Hall auditorium in Sydney on Sunday (9 November), organized by the Australia chapter of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The discussion meeting was graced by the presence of Mr. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP National Standing Committee, who joined from Bangladesh. He extended his heartfelt greetings to all BNP leaders and activists across Australia on the occasion of the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

The event was presided over by A.F.M. Tawhidul Islam, President of BNP Australia, while Joint Secretaries General Yasser Arafat Sabuj and Engineer Moshiur Rahman Munna jointly conducted the proceedings. The program began with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an and a special prayer led by Manjurul Haque Alamgir, Treasurer of BNP Australia.

As the chief speaker, Mohammad Rashedul Haque, BNP’s International Affairs Secretary, called upon all leaders and activists to collect primary membership under the guidance of the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman. He urged everyone to actively contribute from their respective positions toward the upcoming national elections in Bangladesh, emphasizing the need to strengthen the hands of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.

Mohammad Haider Ali, General Secretary of BNP Australia, addressed the gathering as a special speaker, urging unity and proactive engagement in party activities ahead of the national election. A former central leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, he encouraged expatriate members to participate in party work locally and, if possible, in their respective constituencies in Bangladesh.

Another special address was delivered by Senior Vice President and International Affairs Secretary (Joint Secretary rank) of the BNP Central Volunteer Wing, Mohammad Omi Ferdous. He urged all party members to energetically engage in organizational and electoral activities leading up to the election.

Badsha Bulbul, Assistant Office Secretary of BNP Australia and Member Secretary of Zia Cyber Force (Australia Continental Branch); and Shaheduzzaman Shahed, Assistant Student Affairs Secretary of BNP Australia.

In his presidential remarks, A.F.M. Tawhidul Islam highlighted the historical significance of General Ziaur Rahman’s leadership during the National Revolution and Solidarity Day. He reflected on Zia’s patriotism, honesty, and dynamic life, urging all members to follow his ideals. The hall was filled with BNP leaders and activists, creating an atmosphere of unity and enthusiasm.

BNP leaders and activists from Queensland joined the event virtually from Brisbane, led by Convenor Saeed Chowdhury and Member Secretary Jahangir Hossain. Similarly, members from Western Australia gathered at a park in Perth, led by Member Secretary Faisal Mahmud, to participate in the event online.
