

A ghaibana janaza (funeral prayer in absentia) was held in Sydney, Australia, for Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The programme was organised by the Australia branch of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party at Railway Parade, Lakemba, Sydney.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its allied organisations, along with members of the Bangladeshi community living in Australia, attended the programme and prayed for the forgiveness of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul.
The funeral prayer was led by Maulana Muhammad Ferdous Alam, Coordinator of the Ulama Foundation of Australia and President of the Islamic Culture Propagation Centre.
Among those present were leaders and activists of Australia BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, Zia Cyber Force Australia branch, and other affiliated organisations.


Also present at the programme were former Australia BNP President Lutful Kabir, Vice President Selim Lokiyat, Ashraful Islam, Mobarak Hossain, Senior Joint Secretary Elias Kanchan Shahin, Joint Secretary Yasir Arafat Shabuj, Organising Secretary Shafiul Alam Shafique, Assistant Organising Secretary Rizvi Ahmed, Aswadul Haq Babu,Office Secretary Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Australia Jubo Dal Convener Jahangir Alam, Industry and Commerce Secretary Wares Mahmud and Zia Cyber Force Australia branch Member Secretary Md. Badsha Bulbul, among others.
