If a passenger is infected with coronavirus, Emirates will pay for his treatment and stay in quarantine. The Dubai-based airline is the first airline in the world to offer this guarantee to passengers.
According to Emirates, all types of passengers will get this facility. It has been informed that this facility will be effective till October 31.
If a passenger is hit by a corona after boarding an Emirates flight, a maximum of 173,000 per passenger will be paid for medical expenses.
Infected passengers will be paid a maximum of 100 per day to stay in quarantine. This means that Emirates will bear the entire cost of medical treatment and quarantine.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Emirates Group and chief executive officer of the company, told a news conference that the Emirates had taken all precautionary measures to protect passengers from corona infections.
Uzbekistan has been seen to take such exceptional initiatives for tourists, not just in the UAE. The country has insisted that tourists visiting their country will not be affected by the corona. However, if infected, the affected person will get 3 thousand US dollars.
Meanwhile, Emirates has already announced that it will lay off 9,000 of its 70,000 employees due to the coronavirus epidemic.
