

An Iftar and prayer gathering was organised by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Australia on Sunday (8 March) at the Lakemba Library Hall in Sydney.
A large number of Bangladeshi expatriates attended the event, including leaders and activists from BNP Australia, Jubo Dal, Swechchasebok Dal, Mohila Dal, Zia Cyber Force (ZCF), as well as members of other affiliated organisations and representatives of the Bangladeshi community.
Speaking as the chief guest, Mohammad Rashedul Haque, International Affairs Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of BNP, said that Independence Day is a symbol of the nation’s pride and sacrifice. He stated that the contribution of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman remains eternally memorable in the history of Bangladesh’s independence. He added that Ziaur Rahman’s ideals and nationalist philosophy will continue to guide the struggle for democracy, development and the protection of people’s rights.
The President of BNP Australia, A F M Towhidul Islam, addressed the program virtually as the special guest.

Special prayers were offered seeking forgiveness and peace for the souls of the martyrs of the Liberation War, the martyrs of the July uprising, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and those who lost their lives during the democratic movements over the past 17 years.
The prayer session was conducted by A K Manzurul Haque Alamgir, Treasurer of BNP Australia.
